Alana grew up a small-town Texas girl and fell in love with reading and writing at an early age. A University of Texas alum (Hook ‘em!), she married her college sweetheart the week after graduation (though she would not recommend this to anyone, it’s worked out pretty so good far!). Mom to four kiddos plus one extra-large golden retriever, she tries hard to fill her time with what she loves most: writing, taking long walks, eating delicious food, and snuggling up near a fire in her coziest pajamas. But in reality, her days are usually filled with cheering her kids on (too loudly!) at a variety of sporting events, waiting in carpool lines, endless loads of laundry and dishes, and a continuous recalibration of an ever-fluid master schedule trying to make it all work.  After a past life as a photographer, she is focusing her efforts on trying to make her writing dream come true. Photography taught her to always try and look at life through the proper lens, and while she will admit that motherhood is exhausting and overwhelming, she honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.
